A friend and I visited on Friday 30th May. We booked a table for 8.30. The place was very busy with a private party in the back. Staff were very welcoming and courteous. The food was delicious apart from the garlic bread which was dry and not very garliccy. Service was excellent despite how busy it was. Would definitely recommend this place and would definitely go again.

Amazing place. The food was delicious and service amazing. We went on valentine’s day and the place was fully decorated. House wine was also amazing and so was the ravioli and the chocolate heart cake. The peri peri prawns were my favourite and would highly recommend trying that. Nice little gem !

What a hidden gem! Tucked away on the border of Blackheath is this superb Italian restaurant run by the friendliest and most attentive staff! I had the seafood salad to start with and its was a nice sized portion of mixed shrimp, mussels, welks, octopus and squid on a base of lettuce, carrots and topped with onion rings and a nice oil and vinegar dressing. So delicious. We also had a generous portion of garlic bread to share, which was delicately toasted till slightly crispy and very tasty. For mains, i chose the Linguine with strips of Aberdeen Angus beef in a creamy and tomato based sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly with the right amount of harness/softness, elasticity and texture. One would say, Al Dente! I really enjoyed the flavour of the combined pasta, beef and sauce. Very enjoyable and authentic! Dessert was a homemade Tiramisu, which was by far, the best tiramisu I've had! Much better than the hand made one I had in an expensive restaurant in Rome last month! I could really taste the espresso and the light fluffy cream was not so heavy on the stomach at all. Nice sized portion and I could easily finish it all despite being full already. When it was time for the bill, we were offered a complimentary shot of limoncello. This is a very nice way to top off the fantastic culinary experience! I really enjoyed the entire evening. Seating and tables nicely spaced out so its not too crowded, staff were friendly and welcoming, and the food is absolutely divine! Will definitely revisit again soon to try the other menu items!

Yes yes YES! A great evening meal here. Can 100% recommend. The best Frutti di mare I’ve ever had in London, so impressed. The cocktails (expresso martini and orgasm) were fantastic, the staff were lovely and the food was impressive to say the least! They also played ABBA while we ate which of course, is a selling pointwill be coming back soon!

Such a lovely restaurant, first visit and felt like we had been customers for years, the staff are so lovely and could not do more if they tried. The food is amazing, steak was cooked perfect and everything soo fresh. The lasagne was delicious. Then came dessert, the Tiramisu was out of this world, one of the best I've had and I have had a lot of them. Kids also said everything was yummy. Definitely be back soon

Great food and amazing staff. A bit crowded for my liking, but probably you can't keep a place like this, a secret. We had lasagna, and prosciutto pizza. Both of us been really satisfied.

I visited this evening with my partner and really loved it. The owners designed the menu at (and ran) a legendary eatery that was at the Elephant and Castle I would eat at with my family as a child. I was delighted to see that apparently they had repeated that magic with Ristorante Carola - no apparently about it, THEY HAVE. The food was just as good as I remembered. I eat a lot of Italian Food, having even visited Italy a number of times and the food here was as good as anything I've ever eaten. They work some king of magic with their pizza (and garlic bread) dough, it's so light it kind of melts on your tongue. Amazing food, wonderful service (the owners and their team are all so warm and welcoming) and ridiculously well priced considering the high quality. I will return asap!

We always love visiting Carola, have known Paula and her team for a long time, as have been visiting since the restaurant was opened, and previously at the restaurants in Bermondsey and Elephant & Castle. Amazing friendly and welcoming staff, great service. Always a fabulous menu and very reasonably priced. We also on many occasions book out the function room for large groups and special occasions. A really great restaurant!
